This is a photograph of the Principal Bedroom showing its barrel vaulted ceiling c1550. The curved rafters are intersected by long narrow beams dividing its area into rectangles. It is possible that originally the woodwork was ceiled in hiding it from view. A small adjoining room was probably a powder closet.
This is the Principal bedroom, showing the fine stone fireplace of c1550 set in the North wall, uncovered by Col. Warde. It has an arched head and a projecting cornice.
